Ruth Atzinger is a singer and a singing teacher. She lives and works in Munich. Ruth studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in German studies, music and dramatics. This was followed by a course in classical jazz at the 'Königlichen Konservatorium' Den Haag, where she obtained an artistic diploma.
Prior to pursuing a career as a solo artist, Ruth Atzinger was active in a number of choirs. As a young lady she managed concert trips to the neighbouring European countries. While preparing for her first degree she sang in the Pop and Jazz Choir 'Voices in Time' (prize winner
of the German Choir Competition). She also sang in the Madrigal Choir at the Munich Conservatory. She was the laureate at „Jugend Musiziert“ with the vocal Sextett „Serafinen“ Ruth has been leading the Munich Ladies Choir since September 2009; a task she carries out
with a great deal of commitment and enthusiasm. She's particularly focussed on the advancement of a homogeneous choir tone as well as the unerring musical interpretation of differing repertoires.
Ruth Atzinger also took over the leadership of the GEMA Company Choir in Munich
in January 2010.
Ruth can be heard in and around Munich as 'front woman' of her own Fado and Brasil Band
„projecto sul“ and likewise with the 20s duo programme „Alles wird Ruth“
